Swoon is a street artist born in New London, Connecticut, and raised in Daytona Beach, Florida. She moved to New York City at age nineteen, and specializes in life-size wheat paste prints and paper cutouts of figures. I like the look of her work, its a fresh approach to “street art”, not that I follow its terms daily but this woman has broken free in my mind from the stereotype. Instead of sat there carving away stencil after stencil ready for spray work she actually uses the craft work of a paper and knife and puts its out there for people to see. Who needs spray paint? Her work is delicately constructed however it has the passion and edge to make it punch you in the face.
I have been unable to find a permanent site for swoon, maybe shes taken a leaf out of Banksy’s book and has left no imprint on this earth apart from the artwork, once I find her i’ll make sure its up here.
